The Wallop Artists

Wallop Artists are a group of enthusiastic amateur artists who paint mainly in watercolours and acrylics.  There are several members who work with pastels, as well as others who use oils or sculpt.

Originally formed as an informal club for artists in the Wallop villages, the membership has now widened to draw from the surrounding areas, and currently totals around 80 members of mixed abilities.  Some are enthusiastic beginners, while others are experienced and talented professionals.

The group holds regular all-day painting workshops on the last Monday of the month – an opportunity for all members to get together, have a picnic lunch and hopefully finish a masterpiece destined for display at the Annual Exhibition in September!   Also on these days some of our knowledgeable members take on the role of art teachers and run informal drawing and painting classes for the less experienced.

We also host monthly demonstrations by visiting professional artists and, weather permitting, paint outdoors at various locations during the summer months.

At intervals during the year Wallop Artists also run all-day workshops which are open to all members.  These are led by experienced visiting artists and are very well attended.

We are always keen to welcome new members to our happy fold.  You don’t have to be a budding Van Gogh ... just keen to get together with like-minded people and enjoy painting or sculpting.  You are very welcome to visit our painting workshops.  If you would like to know more, please don’t hesitate to contact Lindsay Murray-Twinn on 01264 781497
