Why We Should Contribute to Our Community
And so goes the quote by famous American Philosopher, Essayist, and Poet; Ralph Waldo Emerson.
“The purpose of life isn’t to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well”.
This quote says it all.
Life isn’t about living for yourself alone; it’s about leaving impacts in others’ lives around you and even in the environment in which you live.
As they commonly say, man is a social animal, which means we can’t live without one another.
We all remain connected to each other, and as such, we should be ready to put all hands on deck to work for everybody’s success.
As soon as no one can successfully dwell in isolation, our lives should make a difference in others around us, as rightly advised by our opening quote.
Think about it; we all go to our various workplaces, we all do whatever our boss says we should do despite the inconveniences, we all love to please our family members and coworkers.
We all love to develop a good reputation in society.
Doing all of these things isn’t the wrong action.
But, how many of us have ever dared to stand on our feet to see our community brought to life, grow with life, and full of energy?
Can a large percentage of community members boldly come out to mention a list of uncountable things they’ve done for the community without compensation and rewards?
True, donating money is a big part of giving back to the community.
Yet, even more than just donating a large amount of money, time, resources, and belongings are some ways you can contribute your part to the community’s general development.
